Assistant Technical Director
St. Ann’s Warehouse seeks a
highly motivated individual to join its production staff in a fulltime,
year-round position. An integral part of
the production team, the Assistant Technical Director works with the Production
Manager, Technical Director, Production Coordinator, and overhire crew to
support artists, maintain high production values and ensure a safe, efficient
and fun work environment. The Assistant Technical
Director must be extremely detail oriented with superior technical, computer,
organizational and leadership skills. A
strong background in electrics and lighting is required. The Assistant Technical
Director reports to the Technical Director and Production Manager.
Specific Responsibilities
include:
To assist in maintaining all physical
spaces and all systems and equipment pertaining to performance;
To maintain safety standards on and off
the stage;
To function as the Master Electrician on
load ins, load outs, and during technical rehearsals.
To be the production representative at
the majority of performances;
sometimes assuming a run crew/operator position as needed. This
position calls for a lot of nights and weekends.
To assist in the planning and
implementation of production budgeting,
To assist in scheduling freelance crew
To address emergency maintenance issues
as they arise;
To repair equipment as needed;
To maintain electrics inventory and
purchase perishables;
To coordinate equipment rentals as
needed;
To create and maintain relationships
with vendors;
To assist other members of the
department as needed;
To assist other departments with general
theater/building maintenance as needed.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
Minimum of 3 years professional
experience;
A broad working knowledge of technical
design and production;
A working knowledge of video and sound
design and equipment; including ideally a knowledge of Yamaha digital
sound consoles.
A strong background in lighting and
electrics; knowledge of lighting systems and equipment, including ETC
lighting consoles.
The ability to troubleshoot and stay
cool under pressure;
The ability to work unsupervised as
needed and make important decisions, acting as the final authority in the
theater when needed;
The ability to complete projects in a
timely fashion
A working knowledge of VectorWorks12.5
or later and MS Office; be comfortable with Macintosh operating systems;
Strong communication, negotiation and
problem solving skills;
Strong leadership, interpersonal and
organization skills;
A great sense of humor.
Start date: September 15,
2010. Salary range is in the mid 30’s and is commensurate with experience and

Street
Team
Support St. Ann’s Warehouse by

School credit is available for internships

Technical Production
Interns who work with the Production Management staff will receive hands-on
experience in carpentry, rigging, lighting and sound engineering, with a focus
on execution and design. Interns also have the opportunity to work as members
of the production crew and house staff. Hours will vary with the production
schedule.
Administration Interns are needed to assist St.
Ann’s busy office with producing and promoting international
and multi-disciplinary presentations. Administrative interns will work closely
with marketing and development staff and assist with general office work as
needed. Duties will be focused primarily on marketing, distribution, and
database maintenance using Raiser’s Edge, a leading non-profit development
software. Computer proficiency is a must.Interns may also assist with audience services and gala opening night
events.
Marketing Interns assist in the promotion of St. Ann's Warehouse events and
performances. Duties include production and distribution of promotional
materials, mailing list and website maintenance. Computer proficiency is a
must.
Development Like all not-for-profit organizations, St. Ann's Warehouse is dependent
upon financial support from a wide variety of foundations, corporations and
individuals. Intern duties include research, grant-writing, special events, and
maintaining donor database. Applicants should have excellent writing skills and
be computer proficient.
